I sent a package of warm clothes for my child studying in India. It was posted on 1st November. Reached India on 6th November, got custom clearance on 12th November but as per tracking records, it is still lying at Foreign Post Office, New Delhi. We asked our friends in Delhi to look into the matter, they called the above mentioned office at Ph. No. 011-2323 5501, some Ms. Jyoti answered the call and told that they could come and pick up the parcel themselves. When the man reached the office, the Superintendent Mr. SS Shekhawat was all adamant to not hand over the package in any case, even after getting the confirmation on phone from the receiver mentioned on the parcel.
It was a completely irrational behaviour, either they should be responsible enough to deliver the package on time or they could simply give the package to our friends who could go and give it to the child who is waiting for it in Winter- please note that our child is studying in India and knowing that it was getting too cold there, we sent the sweaters and warmers etc…but sadly the things are still lying uselessly at the Foreign Post Office and the child is forced to manage without them.
Now our friends keep calling in all the offices there to get track of the package but in vain…
We are really very sorry to have done this mistake of sending the stuff through Indian post and really do not know how to get the job done.
The people sitting there as officers, our so called Public Servants, have no sense of duty and they are least concerned about helping the public.
Hope our complaint can get attention before the end of 2017 winter.
